Current state of the mustang NV

I have a 1968 musrang coupe that's in the high school auto shop. I am restoring it to its original appearance. I'm upgrading the suspension, steering, engine and transmission. The overall appearance of the car will look original but with small upgrades, such as wheels, paint color, and chrome. At the moment the car has the motor and transmission out. I need to sand and paint the engine bay, degrease the motor and trans, paint the motor, and load it up on the trailer to get the lower repair cowl panels welded in, and the upper cowl panel welded into place. NV

I started to restore this mustang with Nick a few years after restoring my 83 Toyota pickup. My dad and I started restoring my truck as soon as i got it for my 16 birthday.  At first re took the engine and  took it all a part then sent it into the machine shop  while we were waiting to get it back we started body work. we took of the old rusted bead and built a flat bed from scratch. we also did a bunch of rust repair and finder repair. once we got the engine back we put it all back together  then we had carburetor problems so we rebuilt that to. and that was all we had to do to the engine. after we did all the body work then we primed and panted it a olive green an that's my story of how i built my first truck . The background of mustangs, and vehicle restoration NV

 How Car restoration works

Many people have dream cars, for people who do, we can't just walk into a dealership and buy one. Even if you could, you would need to question its condition. Because you have never worked on the vehicle before, you don't know its complete condition. But if you have the time, money, and patience, you could consider buying a classic car and doing your own restoration! The job wont be easy, and the cost will be a little higher then expected, depending on what vehicle you choose. But the experience, and the feeling of driving a classic car in perfect condition as if it was new, is a great feeling after a long haul.

Why automotive restoration?

We chose this topic because I am restoring a 1968 Mustang. We work on it just about every day in our high school auto shop. I hope to gain some knowledge on how to weld and fabricate metal to repair my mustang. I also want to learn how to paint and fiberglass. Another thing I am going to need to learn is how to repair rust. NV

I chose car Restoration because I want to learn how to properly fiberglass repair also, how to do proper rust repair and sanding/paint. IH
